Aloha!
We just returned from our Hawaiian vacation and it was amazing. Hawaii is a place I always want to visit and I never want to come home. It definitely keeps a piece of your heart every time you visit. This was my girl’s first trip to Hawaii and Myron’s first trip to Oahu and it definitely stole all of their hearts as well. Hawaii is not your average “beach vacation”. Hawaii is full of culture, beauty, and the spirit of Aloha. It is like no other place on earth.
If you have been following along on my Instagram Stories you have seen that I shared some of the highlights of our trip while we were there. I also shared lots of stories of the amazing vacation home we stayed in. If you haven’t watched them yet, you can head to Instagram and watch them in the HIGHLIGHTS.
I received thousands of inquires asking where we stayed. Sorry I didn’t share earlier but we were on vacation and I didn’t want to work…haha. Plus, for security reasons, it’s best to share the details when we return home. But now you don’t have to wait any longer because here is all of the information you’ve been waiting for.
We booked a home in Laie, HI which is on the North Shore of Oahu. We wanted to stay on this side of the island for a few reasons. One is because Laie is where I went to school, lived, and played while attending college at BYU-Hawaii. I also have family there we wanted to visit and be close to and this side of the island is slow and steady and I love it. Being in an area with the locals is really the best.
The home we stayed at is the Ocean House on Laie Point. If you’ve been to Laie you’ll know that the point is a favorite of tourists to visit. The lookout is amazing and if you are brave enough you can even jump the point. I have never jumped it and none of us did while visiting. You’ll have to let me know if you’re one of those brave souls who have jumped it before.

Now let’s talk about this amazing home.
This house is in Laie, HI, and sleeps 10. It is a modern 2960 SF five-bedroom oceanfront home built in 2009 featuring high ceilings, spacious rooms cooled by house A/C, new furnishings, and sweeping views. The ocean’s currents run across the home’s expansive southern view of Clissold’s Bay, which makes for a mesmerizing view any time of day and in any type of weather.  It is truly stunning!  Most importantly, a wonderfully private local beach with calm surf and soft sands is only a 5-minute walk down the street. We spent every day on this beach and even ended up taking family photos there so we could remind ourselves of our private beach. We literally had it to ourselves every day.

There are three main bedrooms that have their own bathrooms. The master bath was a great retreat because of the amazing views. The shower was the most fun with a full window to look out at the ocean. The two upstairs bedrooms have a second shared bunk bedroom for two children each. You can visit the home’s website to see the gallery of the home.
The beds were all comfortable which was a definite plus! The bedroom downstairs has a door to a little patio set up with chairs, this is also where the foot wash is to clean off all of the sand so you don’t have to track it all in. THIS WAS FABULOUS to have. I mean, just look at this view. You can see the beach on the right, that is where the private beach is!

We enjoyed the great room every morning and evening. The kitchen was well stocked with anything you would need and if you’re wanting to make a meal at home there is a local grocery store just down the street. The kitchen has utensils, cooking pots and pans, and even a grill outdoors if you’d like. Some of the local restaurants are only providing take-out so it was nice to order food and bring it home to eat. Papa Ole’s is right down the road and we ordered their mac pancakes several times to pick up for breakfast and then ate them at home while enjoying the view.

A few of my other favorite things the home had to offer was in the garage. There is a laundry room which is A MUST when you’re on vacation. It was so nice to have fresh beach towels (which are also provided) and clothes. The garage also has ALL. THE. THINGS. you would need for the beach. There are chairs and umbrellas, coolers, snorkel gear, water shoes, a wagon, backpacks, sand toys, and more. I loved not having to worry about finding those items to buy or rent.
They also have some beach cruisers for you to use which was a ton of fun!

This home was not only beautiful, but it was clean. I loved that it felt private and safe. We loved being able to stay right in the middle of a small town with locals all around us. The Polynesian Cultural Center, Brigham Young University-Hawaii, and the Laie Temple are just around the corner. The owner Bill and manager Tania were amazing to work with and answered any questions we had in a timely manner. They were always available which was nice to know.
Would we stay there again?
ABSOLUTELY 100%
We loved our stay on Naupaka Street

Why? Because the home, the views, the location, the amenities for our large family of 7 cannot be beaten. It was perfect for us and I cannot wait to stay there again! Be sure to check out this fun video that highlights the property and visit Laie Ocean Home site to see availability and pricing. If you end up booking or have questions, just reach out to the owner and let him know that I sent ya!
I hope you end up staying there. If you do, please be sure to tag me and let me know.
Aloha!
