Easy American Flag Fruit Dessert for your patriotic get-togethers.
You’re a grand old flag,
You’re a high flying flag
And forever in peace may you wave.
You’re the emblem of
The land I love.
The home of the free and the brave.
Ev’ry heart beats true
‘neath the Red, White and Blue,
Where there’s never a boast or brag.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
Keep your eye on the grand old flag.
Did you sing this song in elementary school growing up? Â It was one of my favorties and still is.
I love all of the patriotic songs. Â I love being an American and enjoying the life and freedoms we have here. Â I love that we have holidays where we can wear red, white and blue and light fireworks and remember an honor those who have fought for this beautiful country.
I love having themed parties and food. Â It just makes things more fun. Â We always have some sort of red, white and blue food item on our menu and this year is no different. Â Tomorrow I will be making this fruit platter because it is easy to throw together, delicious and it looks so darn cute. Â I dipped my own pretzels in white chocolate but you can purchase them premade or even make or by yogurt dipped pretzels.
We will be celebrating tomorrow with our little family, enjoying the day off of work and school. Â We will also make a couple of visits to the cemetery to visit Myron’s mom and my grandparents. Â My grandpa was a Marine and I am grateful for his service.
I hope you all enjoy your Memorial Day with those you love most.
Hopefully you can find some berries and make this dessert. Â If not, you have a couple of more holidays to enjoy it at. Â In Utah we even have the 24th of July that we celebrate which mean more flag songs, more flag food, more good ‘ol American fun.
