Mint milkshake that tastes just like McDonald’s Shamrock shake will satisfy your ice cream craving.
McDonalds Shamrock milkshake is a request every time we are at McDonalds in March. The creamy, minty shake with its green hue is just irresistible. The only problem is that we have 5 children and that can add up and be a total budget buster if we each get one. The solution: Make our own!
I love this recipe because it is easy and you only need a few ingredients. Vanilla ice cream, half and half, peppermint (or mint) extract, green food coloring. You will also need whipped cream, sprinkles and cherry to garnish. Blend together your ingredients until you reach the consistency you want. You can add more ice cream or half and half depending on how thick you want it. You can also add more mint extract if you like it stronger or start out with just a little bit for those who don’t like it as strong.
This recipe is so much cheaper to make for our family and my girls love it because they can keep adding whipped cream and sprinkles. Hope you enjoy this little treat with your family.

I always add 1 teaspoon of extract, mix and taste and add more if needed. We like it minty, but not too strong. Remember, it is always easier to add more if needed.
