Today is December 1st and the day we start our countdown to Christmas. We are starting December out by joining in on the worldwide day of service. Â We have been making Angel Ornaments every year for our friends and family who have lost a loved one for about 5 years now. Â Sadly we are making more this year. It is so sad to lose someone that is dear to your hearts and we try to remember them always in all that we do, but it seems that during the holidays is when we really start to miss them the most.
We have a special place in our heart for Christmas ornaments that have a meaning behind them and our angel ornaments are some of favorites. Whenever we look at them we are reminded of our love for that person, we think of good times we had with them and are thankful to our Father in Heaven for the time we did have with them.
Today we decided for our service project that we would make our ornaments. Â This year for our own family members so we can always remember our Grandma Vea and also for the Mahe family who now have an angel in their life. Â Pink and purple to remember those we love.
“Yea, and are willing to mourn with those that mourn; yea, and comfort those that stand in need of comfort, and to stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places that ye may be in, even until death, that ye may be redeemed of God, and be numbered with those of the first resurrection, that ye may have eternal life”—Mosiah 18:9
All you need are some clear ornaments, ribbon in your loved ones favorite color and some white feathers. Â I usually create a tag with their photo on it, but you could also put a photo in the ornament. Â I have attached a FREE PRINTABLE for you with the poem. Â You can download your tags HERE.
I hope that when you print these tags off and create your own ornaments that you will feel the love of those who passed. Â That you feel the love that our Savior Jesus Christ has for you and for your loved ones and feel a little piece of Heaven in your home this Christmas season.
